Everyone needs a cup of coffee. Whether it is because you needed a break from the city or because you had to wake up at some ungodly hour to send someone you love off, Kaffa Espresso Bar at the Penang International Airport is the place for you.
Strategically located just before the departure halls, no one will be able to miss it especially since they provide a row of parking lots that are exclusive to their own customers. Which was nice, but it wasn't the only pleasant surprise.
Walking into the vintage American-themed place where an antique baby aircraft hung from the ceiling, I expected the prices on the menu to be inflated like almost all airport joints. But they weren't. You could get a cup of coffee for RM10 and tea for RM8, which is pretty much the same as what they cost in the cafes around the island. And if you needed to fill your stomach, dishes cost only around RM20 each.
Kaffa themselves have stated that they wanted to retain their regular prices even at the airport branch. However, if you have no reason to go to the airport and would still like to try them out, you can always visit their Green Hall branch.
