This little cafe is named after the tropical pitcher plant, also known as monkey cups. Behind the wall in the first photo above (via Hungrygowhere) hangs pots of plants by the very name.
Unlike most cafes around Penang that mainly serve coffee and western food, Monkey Cup cafe offers a selection of Thai food along with its drinks and desserts.

I personally haven't tried their coffee and desserts, but I have heard that they use peaberry beans for their coffee which are round and arguably taste better than the usual flat coffee bean. The wood-based design provides a pleasant environment whether you're out for drinks with friends or wanting to work on a project, so do visit them yourself!
