ASICS Penang Bridge International Marathon

The ASICS Penang Bridge International Marathon (APBIM) is an international running event catered to amateur and professional runners. To be held for the first time at the recently opened Sultan Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah Bridge (Second Penang Bridge), the marathon consists of four categories ranging from full marathon, half marathon, 10KM and fun run. Refer to details below for information on road closure and shuttle buses.

Road closures
The Sultan Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah Bridge (Second Penang Bridge) will be closed from 6.00am (15 November) until 3.00pm (16 November). Ferry services will be available 24 hours and the Penang Bridge will be opened to traffic.

Lebuhraya Tun Dr Lim Chong Eu from the junction of Hilir Sungai Kluang 1 to the junction of Persiaran Bayan Lepas will be closed from 10.00pm (15 November) to 12.00pm (16 November).

Car Park
If you prefer driving to the site, you may park at surrounding roads and hop on to the free van shuttles at 15 minutes interval to the starting point. Refer to this guide book for full map.

Shuttle Buses
Free Shuttle
A two-way free shuttle service to the marathon starting point will be available for APBIM runners. Keep a look out for Rapid Penang buses with 'APBIM Free Shuttle' sign. Pick-up points include the ferry bus terminal (Weld Quay), Komtar bus terminal and Queensbay Mall bus stop (beside police kiosk). Operation hours are between 10.00pm (15 November) to 12.00pm (16 November) with every 20 minutes interval.

Rapid Penang Bus
Participants can also hop on the Rapid Penang shuttle bus that begins from Batu Ferringhi to Komtar. Then, at Komtar bus terminal, you may board the APBIM free shuttle to starting point. Operation hours are from 10.00pm (15 November) to 5.00am (16 November) with every 30 minute intervals. The rate is RM2 per person per way. For full bus route, refer to this guide book.

Alternatively, there are other Rapid Penang bus services that can take participants from Batu Ferringhi to Komtar. Keep an eye on Bus 101 and 102 and fare is counted by distance.
